Welcome to the Hills Dog Club

We are glad you are here! Since 1979, Hills Dog Club Inc. has supported local dog owners to build positive, lasting relationships with their dogs through fun, effective training and community events. Our classes have been held at Castle Hill Showground since 1980, and are open to all breeds and ages.

Club News & Announcements

1. Special Notices and Reminders
The Hills Dog Club Committee are excited to welcome you and your furbabies back, and we look forward to another fantastic year together!

2 Training Days
The club’s training days are Monday evenings and Tuesday mornings. For more specific information, please see the class times section.

3. Membership Renewals
Membership renewals are currently open. To avoid paying a new joining fee, please ensure your membership renewal is done by the 3rd Tuesday in March 2026.

4. Expressions of Interest
– Treasurer’s Position: We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the position of Club Treasurer. If you would like more information or are interested in joining our fantastic team of volunteers, please get in touch with our Secretary by completing this short form, or speak with Lynne Sheather, our current Treasurer, who can be found in the Clubhouse, or attend our General Meeting, held on the second Tuesday of each month.
– 2026 Instructors Course: We are currently seeking expressions of interest for our 2026 Instructors Course. If you would like more information, reach out to Carolyn (Education Officer) via this short form, chat with our friendly office team, or speak with one of our current instructors to learn more!

CLASSES

Available Classes

Hills Dog Club provides positive, reward-based obedience training for dogs of all ages on Monday evenings and Tuesday mornings. We also have rally and trick classes available on a Monday evening.

Membership Options

Joining Hills Dog Club requires a one-time joining fee and an annual subscription, paid on a per-calendar-year basis. Membership options are available for individuals, dual, families, and juniors.

Hills Dog Club hosts a variety of exciting events, including scent work trials, rally trials, obedience trials, trick trials, and All Breeds Championship Shows. The club also regularly hosts seminars and general meetings.

Weather Update

Hills Dog Club is committed to providing consistent training opportunities for you and your dog, but weather or holidays may require changes to our schedule. Please see below for when training goes ahead, when it doesn’t, and how to stay up to date:

When Training Happens: Training classes are generally held in all weather conditions: “Rain, Hail, or Shine!”, except extreme weather

When Training Does NOT Happen: During school holidays, on public holidays, and in cases of extreme heat (when the temperature is 35°C or higher)

Weather & Training Updates: If any changes happen, members will be notified on the Facebook Members Page on:
– Monday Classes: Updates posted by 4 pm on Monday
– Tuesday Classes: Updates posted by 5 pm on Monday

Please check the Facebook Members Page for the latest updates on class cancellations or changes. We look forward to seeing you and your dog at training!
