Muswellbrook, the historic birthplace of the Australian Cattle Dog, recently hosted a spectacular celebration in honour of this iconic breed. The town was buzzing with excitement as hundreds of enthusiasts gathered with their dogs to celebrate the intelligence, loyalty, and hardworking spirit that defines the Aussie Cattle Dog.

The day was a fantastic showcase of the breed’s incredible versatility. The schedule balanced formal competition with lighthearted fun, offering something for everyone.

On the competitive side, events included the precision of conformation shows, obedience, and rally-o, alongside the high-energy action of agility and herding trials. For pure entertainment, the crowd enjoyed contests like best dressed dog, best trick, waggiest tail, and even an owner-dog lookalike competition.

Together, these activities were a powerful reminder of the cattle dog’s enduring place in Australia’s heritage.

It was also wonderful to see our members shining at the event. A special shout-out to Caroline and her clever dog Biddy, and Pat working alongside the skillful Derry.

They are a fantastic example of what can be achieved through passion and dedicated partnership. Caroline was also given an opportunity to share her love of working with Biddy during an interview with NBN News!
